Vectra Bank's training and development team needed an effective way to train remote retail bank employees. The group is responsible for markets across the state, some small with low turnover. The group could not justify trips to their distributed markets to train one newly hired individual at a time, and typically, by the time there were enough new hires to justify the travel, training was no longer relevant. New hires had already made it through months of work with the pains of inadequate training.

The Raindance Solution
Vectra began looking at web conferencing vendors for a remote solution to deliver training to their users' desktops. After reviewing several providers Vectra chose Raindance for its live 24/7 customer support, simple billing model and cost-effectiveness. With Raindance they were able to conduct remote training presentations and bring new hires up to speed quickly. Not only could the training team host live presentations, but they could also create an entire library of training materials with one-click recording.

More recently, the training team has relied primarily on the recordings, further increasing efficiency by enabling users to view training at their convenience. Vectra not only finds recordings helpful for initial training, but also recognizes that more motivated learners can re-access presentations over time to review important content. With these resources in place for employees, the training and development team is able to maximize their impact across the organization, get employees on the right track and focused on Vectra's number one priority-customers.

Vectra is now exploring a number of other ways to leverage Raindance technology across the enterprise. Recent examples include use of Web Conferencing Pro's application sharing feature in implementation of a new software-based approach to scheduling tellers and personal bankers. The Human Resources department was able to contact each branch manager and, by sharing the desktop, walk them through complicated software and build the required database without creating headaches for the extremely busy branch managers.
